Our soy wax candles come in 5 beautiful fragrances for this season. Our two Winter fragrances, Hygge Winter Spices and our new fragrance, Winter Fir. We have our lovely Rose and Oud candle, our Tubereuse Candle and our new fragrant candle Verveine.
Verveine has a wonderful lemony verbena scent. Fir tree is woody and fresh with scents of Eucalyptus, Pine and Cedar. Hygge Winter Spices has a cinnamon, clove and orange base with spicy, warm notes. Rose and Oud has fragrance notes of damask rose, clove and Oud. Tubereuse has a heady fragrance, yet fresh and green too. A scent with subtle nuances of fruity, milky notes. Our Tubereuse candle captures the scent of this white, deeply fragrant flower cultivated in the wide fields of Southern India. Our candles smell very similar to their Diptyque and White Company counterparts and all feature cotton wicks and are packaged in biodegradable cellophane with a lovely ribbon tie.
Our glass candles hold 180g of Soy Wax and are a bargain at £10.99. Burn time is approximately 30 hours.
The White Company signature candle, for example is 140g and costs £35. Our candles have between 7 and 8% volume of fragrance which means that the scent really does last all 5he way to the end of the candle.
Our Hammered Metal Soy Wax candle holds 250g, costing £13 and with a burn time is approximately 40 hours.
The Geo, Tall, Luxury Candle holds a whopping 300g and burn time is approximately 50 hours, so, at just £15 it is an absolute bargain!
There are many advantages to using soy wax over normal paraffin wax in candles. Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and because of this, soy candles will burn slower and longer than paraffin candles. Oils evaporate better from a larger surface area and with the lower heat and larger melt pool so wax creates a scent that will be that much stronger and longer lasting than that of paraffin wax candles.
Sadly, most candles bought today are still made of paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is cheaper to produce but when burnt it creates highly toxic benzene and toluene (both are known carcinogens). In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes. So if we are thinking about our health …and the planet, we should be changing over to either soy or beeswax candles.
Please Note … To make your candles last longer, remember to trim the wick regularly and burn the candle until the whole surface is a molten pool from edge to edge. This is especially important when you light your candle for the first time.
